Philippine Domestic Construction Board (PDCB) took part in the oath taking and conferment of the newly accredited CPES Evaluators of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) during the PICE National Mid-Year Convention recently held on June 15 at SMX Convention Center, Seashell Lane, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.

The undertaking is one of the results of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the PDCB and PICE for the accreditation of PICE members as Constructors Performance Evaluators (CPEs). The accredited CPES Evaluators from PICE can now be tapped as third party evaluators for government agencies as an alternative to their existing evaluators to evaluate their infrastructure projects.

In PDCB's efforts to promote the CPES and increase the pool of evaluators, 164 accredited CPES evaluators from PICE National are now ready to contribute in the golden age of infrastructure through CPES.

Constructors Performance Evaluation System (CPES) is a system developed by the PDCB for grading the performance of constructors for specific kind of projects and is operational to 73 government agencies to date. CPES Evaluators need to accomplish the prescribed PDCB standard evaluation rating form to evaluate projects. The use of the system by government agencies is aimed at (a) pre-qualification/eligibility screening of constructors; (b) awarding of contracts; (c) project monitoring and control; (d) issuance of Certificate of Completion; (e) policy formulation/review; (f) industry planning; (g) granting of Incentives/Awards, and, (h) in adopting measure to further improve performance of contractors in the construction of government projects.
